BMW Repair: CAN Engine Intervention, controller area network, high speed data

Question
I have a 1996 528i BMW(automatic Trans.) and recently i have a "Trans Failsafe Prog" Message, i turn the car off and wait for couple of minutes and turn it on again, every thing looks fine but after 5 or ten minutes the same message appears again. i changed the transmission filter and oil but i'm still having the same problem, i took the car to a local service garage and put it on the scanner a massage appear on the scanner :
"152 CAN Engine Intervention" .
so could you help sorting the problem out?

Thank you very much.

Answer
So you just have the Trans message?I'm not sure how deep or if the garage can check.Having electonics running the transmission it is all controled bt an ECM and solenoids. With the scan tool it should be helpul to diagnose as long as they have european accessabilty.

I know the comment seemed a little hard to get but I'm not sure what type of scan tool your mechanic has to check the system.CAN(controller area network) is a high speed data transfer bus for the following systems Engine,Electronic Transmission, and ABS/traction system. The transmission circuit needs to be checked as to what fault it might have.152 isn't a code I am aware of,mostly the codes are a 4 diget number, sorry for the shortage of information.
