Motorcycle Repair: re-titling salvage bikes, salvage title, salvage yard

Can't afford even a used HD. But am a pretty good mechanic. Any experience with rebuilding bikes, particularly flood damaged, with salvage/parts only titles? I'm thinking of picking up a custom but near-stock geometry frame to gain the Cert of Manufacture. Any thoughts on reasonable priced sources of salvage bikes? Thanks!

There are several salvage bikes on E-bay that you can bid on or you can check with your local salvage yard on this type of bike. One thing you need to do is check with your local DMV to see how its titled, once you need to do when its done and even if they will accept a salvage title from another state.
