Motorcycle Repair: oil indicator light, honda elite, bill silver

Question
I have a 1996 150cc honda elite. The oil pressure light turned RED bad sign. I changed oil and the indicator turned 1/2 green and red. Now it is red again. I have probably driven it about 150 miles since the problam first happend. The motor sounds normal and the temp indicator is running in the normal area. Where should I start looking? Does this engine have an oil pump?
Thanks for your help on my vapor locking problem. I didn't take the gas filter out of the line, but I did wrap about four inches of insulation around.  This seemed to cure the problem. With gas $3.09 in our area, the little bike will probably start getting more miles put   on it.         THANKS JERRY

Answer
Jerry, if you had no oil pressure the bike would have stopped long ago.

I believe you are talking about the service indicator that is resettable once a service has been done. It is just to remind you to change oil, etc...

They are generally reset with the tip of the key in a recess near the speedometer.

Found this for you....

Note that the 80-125-150-250 Honda's have a small window in the speedometer. The window changes color from green to red every 1000 miles. It's to remind you to change the oil. Afte you change it, just place the key into the slot on the lower left sideinstrument panel and push. This will reset the indicator back to green.

Glad your other problem was handled successfully.
