Motorcycle Repair: handling, worst case scenario, honda magna

Question
for a 1985 VF1100C Honda Magna V65.  I purchased this bike aproximately 2 months ago.  I do not have a service history.  What I do know is the bike sat for approximately 1 year to 18 months prior to my purchasing it.  Also, the fluids have been replaced and the bike has no obvious signs of disrepear.

1) A week ago I noticed that in a left turn lean I feel a slight vibration.  Although it is barely noticable, it's there.  There is no such vibration while the bike is straight up/down or in a right turn lean.
2) This morning as I loosened my grip and experienced front tire wobble.  The wobble severity progressed until I firmed my grip.  I exerimented with this on a smoother road and obtained the same result.

Additional information that I'm don't think is relavent: The breaks have a consistent sqeak while applying pressure, thought they do not appear to be excessively worn at this time.

My question:  Is this due to the front wheel being out of balance, bearing wear, or what?

Answer
Hi Brian,

The usual cause for wobble is tire wear. Do you notice any cupping on the front tire tread? Cupping means high and low spots on the tread. The tire should be smooth.

The front end may be out of alignment with itself. To remedy this, simply unloosen all fork and brace fasteners and then retighten.

Worst case scenario the front forks may be tweaked.

In any case, make one change at a time to know which change corrected the problem.

It is normal for the brake pads to squeal, especially on Honda MC's. It may help to use brake cleaner in a spray can to remove residule brake powder and road grime. Squeal is caused by the bads vibrating at a high frequency.
