Motorcycle Repair: cable adjustment, cable adjusters, locknut

Question
Hi,mike.I'd like to thank you for your advice on my idle rpms. This weekend I added a new pair of handlebar grips.I looked at the service manual and I tried to adjust my throttle and idle cables after the installation of the new grips. However the manual describes the procedure for carburated models only and the pictures illustrate parts that don't exist in my bike since it is fuel injected. What is the right procedure to adjust my cables and do I need to or my ecm adjusts automatically?Gratefully,Doucas

Answer
you should have cable adjusters on the new cables you got. install them and located the adjusters on the cable. Should be close to the throttle. There is a locknut and a adjuster screw. They adjust like a carberated model. What you are trying to do is take the slack out of them
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
