Question
I keep having the main fuse blow on the bike when Im driving it I put a new one in and it runs I've checked wiring harness for shorts could there be any other electrical component thats causing this? It blows when Im driving but not doing anything like turn signals or stopping. Two months ago the battery shorted out and I had to replace it and put a new fuse in thats when the problem started.

Answer
Mike, I experienced this unfortunate problem in the middle of an endurace race on my CB400F, which uses a similar charging system. The problem was that the voltage regulator was not controlling the output and when the voltage in the system went too high, it blew the fuse.

Check the output voltage with a volt meter and see if it is going up beyond 14.5 volts. Go to www.electrexusa.com and download the free troubleshooting guide.

I imagine that your "shorted out battery" was melting down inside due to over charging. DO check the stator harness connector for signs of overheating and corrosion.
