Motorcycle Repair: ignition, custom chopper, stage ignition

Question
I just built a custom chopper with a 127" Ultima motor. I put a Crane four stage ignition in it and the lights on the ignition module light up to indicate that it is working properly and is aligned correctly.  After the motor runs for a mile or two the lights go out and the spark is gone.  This is my third ignition and I'm having the same problem. I'm suspecting a faulty ground, but so far that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any suggestions ?

Answer
Make sure you have it wired properly and on a breaker as well as a good ground. It sounds like you age getting a short somewhere, which will bur the ignition out if the short is on the right wire or there is 12 volts going to the wrong wire. I would go back and check all my wiring from the ignition to the battery.
Good luck and happy riding
