Steering Column Repair: wiper swtich, torx screws, saturn vue

i can't seem to be able to remove the plastic around the steering wheel. the two halfs don't want to separate. i don't want to break anything.once i get that off i can replace my wiper  switch.i have a 08 saturn vue. any suggestions?? i thank you in advance

Hi Richard:

To the best of my recollection, the covers snap together and/or they may also have 2 20 torx screws holding the bottom cover to the column.  If you can post a picture of you column or send it to me directly, I can let you know exactly which design you have.
