Motorcycle Repair: No Juice., suzuki katana 600, electrical diagnosis

Question
I recently purchased a Suzuki Katana 600 GXX 1990 model, I purchased a new battery for the bike and changed the fuses. And the bike will not do anything no lights, no noise, nothing. Could the problem be electrical, or is the bike just no good... Please help !

Answer
Hi Temeka,

Why was the fuses replaced?

Do you have a multimeter (VOM)?

If so, check battery voltage. If not, have a local tech perform electrical diagnosis for you.

Check specific gravity of the battery with a Hydrometer designed for MC batteries.

Trace circuit voltage and learn the source of the problem.
I suspect a loose or disconnected connector is causing the problem. Have you re-checked the fuses?

Was battery cable polarity observed when installing the new battery? Red lead to the + Positive battery terminal, black lead to the - Negative terminal.
