Motorcycle Repair: Re: Ignition Timing, electronic ignitions, having computer

Question
Hi,

Hope you can help me. I have a chinese bike(New) with CG125 chinese engine with electronic ignition.

From the start the engine was getting hot (Pants got burnt), spark plug was getting sooty and the engine oil was getting black. All this happened within few minutes of starting the bike.

I changed the carb with a cheap chinese one and now the plug dosent get sooty and the oil dosent get black.

But now it is difficult to start and still the engine gets too hot.

I think there is something wrong with the ignition timing.

How can I adjust the timing? It has a electronic ignition with a trigger.

Pls advice and thanks.

Answer
Hi Imtiaz,

Most electronic ignitions are non-adjustable with the exception of systems having computer tuning capabilities. These are usually found on race MC's and some larger street MC's.

Try contacting the manufacturer for a service manual or other information reference repairing and tuning your CG.
