Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): MY MOWER WANT START, starter switch, tecumseh engine

Question
I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND STARTER SWITCH
AND THE LITTLE PEICE THAT THE WIRES RUN TO FROM
BATTERY AND STARTER AND I CAN'T GET IT TO START
BUT IT WILL TURN OVER BUT WANT CRANK IT IS A SEARS 10HP REAR ENGINE RIDER WITH 30" CUT AND IT HAS A TECUMSEH ENGINE ON IT. I LET IT SET FOR 2 YEARS WITH OLD GAS IN IT BUT I'VE TOOK THE BOWL OFF AND CLEAN IT OUT GOOD AS WELL AS THE CARB I'VE TOOK IT APART AND REBUILT IT AND ALL IT WILL DO IS TURN OVER BUT NOT CRANK ENGINE # 143436012 AND MODEL OF MOWER IS # 502.251220 AND I CAN TAKE SOME OF THE SMALL ENGINE CHOKE & CARB CLEANER AND SPRAY SOME OF IT IN THE CARB AND IT WILL CRANK BUT WHEN IT'S BURNED OUT IT CUTS OFF

Answer
By spraying carb cleaner and the engine running, you know the engine compression, ignition and timing are working correctly.  This leaves only one item; fuel system.


I would make sure fuel is getting to the carburetor.  If fuel is flowing to the carburetor, then the problem still has to be in the carburetor, and you will need to clean it again or replace it.
Have you tried "boiling" the carburetor in the really strong carburetor cleaner?
