Motorcycle Repair: head gasket, head gasket, cbr 600

hi, i have a 1989 cbr 600. i started it for the riding season and noticed that the oil was a milky color. the bike only ran like 3 min. before i shut it off. i had antifreeze in it and oil (of course)before i started it. im pretty sure i blew the head gasket or the water pump seal. how hard is it to do a head gasket on this bike? thanx in advance.

Hi Mark,

I find the task to be fairly easy, but it may be more difficult for someone less experienced.

Check the water pump seal first.

Perform cylinder compression and a leak-down test to help locate the source of the leak.
