Motorcycle Repair: Honda vapor lock, clothes pins, bill silver

Question
I hava an 1986 Honda 150cc eleit scotter. When it is hot out like anytime above 85 degrees. I can see the gas in the filter  boiling. I have tried runing it with the service door at the front of the motor open. And I have put clothes pins on the gas line but I still have this problem.Once the gas boiles the motor stalls, until it has cooled down. The temp gage says that the motor is not running hot. THANKS for any help yuo can give me.

Answer
Jerry, from a quick look at the online microfiche, I don't see a fuel filter for that model. I assume this is an inline filter with a glass housing. I think someone probably added it. That may be your problem as the glass and metal could be picking up heat from the motor and transferring it to the fuel in the line.
Try removing the filter and running a hose directly between the two fittings.... and see if that fixes the problem.  Some aluminum foil in certain places may help direct the heat, but I don't know if this is a common problem or not.
