Motorcycle Repair: kawaski vulcan 1500 ignition fuse, electrical diagnosis, vulcan 1500

Question
My 1997 vulcan starts when cold and runs fine. But after it warms up it will not restart and blows the 10 amp ignition fuse. A couple of times it has quit running at red light while riding, it is not consistent and I have search for electrical short but cannot find one. Can you help me?

Answer
Hi Rick,

The problem may be from water shorting (rain/washing) or a open short (broken conductor) with undamaged unexposed or insulator. This may be why you cannot find the short, if any.

You'll have to have someone perform electrical diagnosis to find the source of the problem. Otherwise, use a VOM (multimeter) and check continuity of each wire, etc...
