Motorcycle Repair: Oil from air cleaner, flapper valves, bikers choice

Question
I have a '98 Heritage Classic with K&N filter with breather kit. Oil saturates the filter and eventually drips out of the air cleaner cover, making a mess. You've heard the story before and I've heard the solution too, run a hose down past the frame. My concern there is moving the mess to the frame, mufflers, tires, wheels, etc. and garage floor. My question is, if I make a steel tube that goes from the air cleaner backplate and directs the breather output directly into the carb will I get oil fouled plugs as a result?

Also, when I changed rocker box gaskets Harley gave me only 1 flapper per rocker box while there are 2 holes in each middle section of the rocker box assy. Would 2 in each help? What about metal flappers? Who makes / sells them?

Thanks for your help.

Paul

Answer
the reason there are two holes in the middle section and only two flappers is that the middle ring can either go on the front head or rear and the flapper goes to the intake side. No, adding additional flappers valves will not help. I dont know of anyone who makes or sells metal flapper valves.
Usuall everybody just runs the hose down. What you want to do I have never heard of so i an not sure if it will work. There are crankcase vents products out there that will solve your problem. Check with anyone who sells Bikers Choice products. They have them in their catolog. Custom Chrome should also have somthing.
Good luck and happy riding
