Motorcycle Repair: 77 Sportser Crank-case breather valve, crank case breather, pvc valve

Question
Will a pvc valve from a car work for this as a substitution; as Harley-D has made the parts for 77-78 & 79-81(?) obsolete; aka---cant get any more. Got any solutions? I'm definitly all ears!

I have never heard of anybody doing this, but it is a one way valve so it might work. You can try it and see if it works. if it doesnt, what will happen is the oil tank will become pressurized and you will know.
Check with some of the aftermarket companies and they may still have the valve.
