Motorcycle Repair: Cleaning Carburetors, areosol, question deals

Question
Hi, im attempting to repair an old 1975 Honda (I know that this isnt about a Harley but as the question deals with nothing very specific to Hondas I hope you can help anyway) that has been inactive for about 5-10 yrs.  Because the guy who had it before me didn't take all to good care before leaving it in his garage the carburetors are sealed with congealed gasoline. I've tried using an areosol carburetor cleaner but it isn't working with just spray. I was wondering if you could give me any advice or suggest something to get them clean and working again. Mainly it is the injection head and pin that is seal into immobility.
Any help would be very useful. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Most shops have carb cleaning tanks that they can soak the carb in. The carb cleaner you buy in a spray can isnt going t work. I have run into this before and usually have to soak them over night to get the junk out. The chemicals in the tank are stronger than what you buy in the can. Call around to different shops and they should be able to help you.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
