Motorcycle Repair: Stalling Under Start, parking lot accident, vulcan 1500

Question
93 Kaw Vulcan 1500.  Had to dump the bike to avoid a parking lot accident.  Bike leaked some anti-freeze and some other fluid which I am guessing was oil.  Righted the bike, and it started fine. Was able to ride it home. The next morning bike starts fine, runs and idles correctly, but when starting off in first gear it stalls, no matter how much gas it is given.  Engine will rev high and stay there without missing.  Ideas?

Answer
Hi Jason,

From the description it's hard to tell how the engine stalls.

Does engine stall as you feather the clutch lever out to move forwards? Does stall occur slowly or suddenly?

Which side did the Vulcan fall to?

Check airbox for oil and gasoline accumulation. Drain and clean airbox drain tube.

Answer the questions and try to provide a more thorough description. It would be helpful for diagnosis. Remember to include your email address as requested. I return test and repair information files by email.
