Motorcycle Repair: 1996 FXDWG Speedometer Sticking, dry storage area, fxdwg

Question
I recently purchased my Dyna from a friend with 13K miles on her. Its been kept in a clean dry storage area and he never rode it much.
I started noticing that the speedometer is sticking at various speeds from time to time and I wonder is there any thing I can lubricate or will it have to be replaced?
Thanks in advance,
JJ

Answer
Check your cable first. Remove the connection from the back of the speedo. Get the front wheel off the ground and spin the tire. Does the inner cable turn? If it does then the speedo needs replaced. There is no repair for it.
Good luck and happy riding
