Motorcycle Repair: Engine noise, eagle road, noise sound

I have a 2001 Screaming Eagle Road Glide. I bought it used in great condition. Lately I've noticed noise coming from the engine area as if the entire engine is loose and knocking on something. I am not able to find the problem. I am also experiencing the same type of "loose" knocking sounds in the front end and ferring. Is this something that happens over time and can be repaired easily? Or is it a serious problem?

The one problem on here is I can hear any noises so it tough to tell what they are. Does the noise sound like its coming from the top end or the bottom end of the motor? Does it do it at idle, when you rev it or riding down the road? Does it do it when riding as well as sitting still?
