Motorcycle Repair: fuel pump wont prime, electrical diagnosis, bikebandit com

2001 cbr 929 rr when i would hit the run switch it would make a humming sound like it was priming the fuel pump and it would start now it doesnt make that sound and it wont start but it still cranks over and if i move the switch back and forth it sometimes works again can you please give me some ideas THANK YOU!

Hi Valentin,

Buy the service/repair manual. It will pay for itself with the first repair/maintenance you perform. It has illustrated procedures to perform all work and troubleshooting on your CBR.

I suspect the switch is corroded or defective. However, it could be something else. You can disassemble the switch and check the contacts. I would have to perform electrical diagnosis to confirm and locate the source of the problem. Process of elimination, simple tests.
