Auto Parts: Wheel Bearing, chevy silverado, wheel bearing

Question
I'm almost positive I have a wheel bearing problem but I'm not sure if it is the 30$ job or the 300$ job. Right now it makes a terribly loud noise and my ABS light is on. I have a 2002 chevy silverado and it has about 180,000 miles. I was just wondering if you think i need to replace just one bearing or the whole kit.

Answer
Whenever you replace wheel bearings you going to want to also replace the racers, they should come with the purchase of new bearings. If your wheel bearing are malfunctioning you will notice a constant vibration at speeds over 15mph. If all you are getting is a loud noise, then its possible that your Caliper, Rotor, Pads, ABS sensor, aren't functioning properly. For instance your caliper might not be disengaging fully and the pads are rubbing against the rotor. If you should acquire any more information on the problem, Please do not hesitate to say so. I would be more then happy to pursue this problem further.
