Motorcycle Repair: Downshift Problem On 1200 Bandit, shaft speeds, suzuki bandit

Question
Mark, thanks for the advice. What you have said makes perfect sense but unfortunately was not the answer. Do you think at 2 1/2 years old it could be a need for changing the DOT4 fluid used to operate the hydrolic clutch?
Thanks Terry.

Question -
2002 K2 1200 suzuki bandit.
Mark, i am having intermittant downshift problems.
On an easy road where i can downshift slowly i have no problem at all, but if i am coming in hard to a corner or to a roundabout(U.K.)and need to downshift quickly more than one gear change, i cant. The box just sticks in the first gear changed down to, and no amount of clutch movement will move it, this results in then moving on in too high a gear and only then can i downshift again. I have had the bike on its centre stand and can run it up and down the box this way ith no trouble at all. The bike is totally clean and is standard. Any Ideas? Terry. Answer -
Hi Terry,

All I can think of is try to blip the throttle to get the engine and transmisson speeds up for the higher gear ratios.

The transmission's sliding gears will naturally resist sliding/mating with other gears until shaft speeds catch up with ratios. Blipping the throttle with down shifting will bring the shaft speeds up and the gears should slide.

Answer
Yes, the fluids should be changed with the periodic table in the Owner's Manual.

Brake fluids draw moisture from humidity and become less effective. This may contribute to the problem you're experiencing.

Bleeding the system properly is important, too.
