Motorcycle Repair: electrical help on 1978 Honda CB750k, fuse box, tight connections

Question
Hello,

I have a 1978 Honda CB750k8.  I can't get power anywhere on the bike.  I have a good battery (brand new).  I have power to the starter magnetic switch, but nowhere else.  I can use a screwdriver and arc across it, and the starter will turn over, but no power anywhere else.  I have a wiring diagram, but it seems to be of no help, because everything seems to be right.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

Answer
Hi Sam,

Do you have a VOM (volt-ohm multimeter)?

I'll need an email address as requested. I'll return tech files that may help you.

You'll have to trace voltage from the battery, to the ignition sw., and through the fuse box. Check fuses, connectors, and wiring for clean, tight connections. Use dielectric grease on connctors to help prevent corrosion and water shorting from rain and washing. You may need to rebuild or replace the stater solenoid, clean the start button contacts, engine run sw., and other related electrical contacts or components.
