Motorcycle Repair: Hard Grear Shift, suzuki 1400 intruder, worn clutch

Question
-------------------------   Followup
Yes the engine has warmed up about 5 to 10 minutes.
The clutch fiber plates were replaced, the metal ones did not show any wear or discoloration.
The oil was changed less than 200 miles ago.
I bought the bike used in July '04. At first it shifted well but it was hard to find neutral.  I leave it in neutral over night.  After allowing it to warm up, I put it in gear and it sort of lunge forward.  I ride for about a block trying to get it out of first gear. Again once I get it into second gear it works well for the remainder of the day.
I do not hotrod, speed shift, or bang the gears.
Question -
I have a 1996 Suzuki 1400 Intruder. First time riding each day it is very dificult to shift out of first gear.  After you get it to shift smoothly the first time it shifts well for the rest of the day.  But the next day the problem is back.
Do you have any suggestions as to what may be causing this?
Answer -
Hi Tim,

Is the engine allowed to warm to operating temperatures before the symptoms appear?

Has the clutch or transmission been serviced in any way? Engine?

When was last maintenance performed and what was done?

Tell me about your riding habits. Do you sometimes hotrod, speed-shift, or "bang" second gear?

Answer
Thanks, Tim

I suspect the clutch needs bled (adjusted). See chart below for additional troubleshooting information.
