Hey I have a 2000 suzuki bandit 1200 i laid it down at about 10 mph but ever since the bike has been leaking gas out of a breather tube coming out the top of the crankcase. bike runs fine other than this i cannot figure this one out any help would be appreciated.oh yea i had to change the exhaust can but i put the same kind back on but without the baffle could that be the problem the carbs where jetted to run without the baffle for the bike is set up for racing thanks again

Hi Jason,

When the MC went down, gasoline may have entered the crankcase. First thing to check is oil level. Gas in oil can thin the oil and make the oil level too high. If in doubt, just change oil and filter.

Combustion blow-by gasses positively pressurize non-fluid space in the crankcase. These gasses are routed to the airbox via the crankcase vent tube. If the oil level is too high, oil can exit the crankcases via the vent tube.

Another scenario.... Carb regursion (coughging) sends gas backwards into the airbox basin and drain tube. It's possible that this fluid traveled down the vent tube when the MC was down.

It's one or the other.
