Tractor Repair: MF135 diesel no start, MF 135 Diesel no start

Question
I was running my tractor when it surged in rpm up and down for about 1 minute then quit running. It will not start now.
It cranks fine.
Thanks

Answer
I would first check all your fuel filters and your fuel quality.
Always start with the simplest things first.
Do your fuel filter have fuel in them?
If not check fuel lines for blockage, dirt, kinked line, etc.
Next check your lift pump, this is the little pump that brings fuel to the injector pump.
loosen the line coming from the lift pump and going to the filters.
The pump should have a manual lever or knob on it to prime the system.
Pump the lever a few times and watch for fuel to come from the line.
If no fuel is coming from it then you have a faulty lift pump. (cheap fix)
If all that checks good undo the fuel lines going to the injectors and crank the engine over.
Is there any fuel coming from the lines, you should see just a spurt of fuel coming from each line as the injector pump forces fuel to them.
If there is no fuel coming to the lines the you lift pump is faulty. (more expensive fix)
Let me know what you find out.
