Motorcycle Repair: 87 vfr700f2 carb, cm400, fastners

hi there, i enjoyed your article on carb cleaniung 101, im new at this, and it was very imformative.

i ride a honda 81' cm400...runs great!

i just got a 87' vfr700f2 and want to pull the carbs. i got the service manual and help from some friends. i detached everything...cables, hoses...and boot fastners...but the carbs wont budge. i also removed the chamber above the carbs that attaches directly to the air box...to get more space. i read places to use wd40 or even vasaline...

any ideas to get my carbs out?

Hi Max,

Can you send an images of the carbs with the tank removed? I've taken these carbs off numerous times over the years, though the image may be helpful to see what remains to be removed or loosened.

Do you have the shop manual?
