Question -
1993 YZ 250 blow thick blueish grey smoke and will not rev into high RPM.  I have changed gas, plugs, cleaned carb, checked pipes, air intake.  I need help.  Any suggestions?
Answer -
Hi Matthew,

Can you provide any information on history of repairs and modifications as requested?

Why was the carburetor cleaned? Was the MC stored for any periods of time?

Have you changed the fuel/oil ratio?

I suspect the pre-mix is off or the carb needs more thoroughly cleaned.

Mark,

The carb was cleaned to rule out possibel problems.  I finally gave up and took the bike in.  The right side crank seal was out causing bottom end oil to leak into cylinder?  Thanks for replying.  On a seperate note I am interested in a yamaha Wolverine for my wife and for me to use for hunting.  Have you heard anything possitive or negative about them?  MS

Answer
Matt,

Crank seals will do that. Good news that crank bearings or piston didn't seize. $$$

Wolverines are dependable. I haven't heard anything negative about them. To learn more about them from Wolverine owners and others who owned them, visit:
