Motorcycle Repair: more power, dyna jet, true duals

Question
1997 FLHR Mostly stock. I have added a twin velocity breather from kuryakyn. I am looking to add a set of rinehart true duals soon. what is the most cost effective (cheapist) way to add some more horses. I'm not looking to turn time trials, just wanna litte more bottom - mid range power, more tork out of the hole. Thanks in advance,ALan

Answer
Horsepower is based on the size of your wallet. More horses, the more it costs!
You can start by installing a Dyna-jet kit. This will richen your carb up and give you more throttle responce. You should do this anyway since youa re changing the exhaust and the changes you are making will make the bike run lean. You should be able to install it yourself. Cost is around 90.00.
Another thing you can do is change the cam. This will help the motor breath better and give you more lowend and midrange. Cost for the cam is around 150.00. If you have a shop do the work you are looking at around 350.00 for the work.
Not sure how much farther you wnat to go, but doing the above will really help.
Good luck and happy riding
