Motorcycle Repair: KDX crank seals, american motorcycle institute, daytona beach florida

Question
Hi my sons 86 kdx 200 kawasaki which used to start easily and run well now is hard to start smokes and drinks transmission oil with no leaks. I suspect crank seals.I don't think we're up to splitting the cases. Any suggestion on a good two stroke mechanic in Orange County California?

Answer
Hi David,

To find a quality tech in your area, call the American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona Beach, Florida and ask if they have any references for your area. Say an AMI graduate referred you to call and inquire.

I don't know of any shops in your area, but I suspect you'll have no trouble finding a quality tech.

TIP: When you find a MC tech, ask a tech to explain what "deck height" means. See answer here: "www.2strokeheads.com/Deck_Height.html"

Any other answer is not acceptable. You keep looking for a tech with the correct answer. : ) This also applies to all mechanics. If they do not know the answer, do not allow them to perform any service on your vehicles.

Have a Blessed Christmas holiday and new year.
