Motorcycle Repair: Brake adjustment, honda cb350, worst case scenario

Question
Hi Chris,  I have a 73' Honda CB350...the front break is not letting the wheel spin freely...how do I adjust the break?  It is hydlaulic disk type.
Thanks,
Pat Gray

Answer
Hi Pat.
Hydraulic brakes are self-adjusting, so it sounds more like the caliper is not retracting properly.  There could be something interfering with it's movement, rust in the mechanism or something in the system preventing full retraction of pressure.  You may even need to rebuild the caliper, but that is a worst case scenario.  Most likely, it just needs to be cleaned up and lubricated.  Bleed the system as well.

Good luck.
