Motorcycle Repair: front wheel whobbling, front wheel bearings, bearing service

Question
I ride my motorcycle and at around 20-30 miles an hour my front wheel whobbles hence my handlebars whobble as well. I have to keep my hands on the handlebars otherwise it whobbles even harder. When I go faster it smooths out. I had the wheels balanced and still the same problem. There are no visible dents in the wheel or bubbles in the tire. I have a 130 front tire. My bike is a 1987 softail. Any idea what the problem could be?

Answer
What brand of tire are you using?. and when was the last time you had a steering neck bearing service done??. It should be done every year or 10k. which ever comes first.. have the fall away done correctly and fork oil changed also. Make shure front wheel bearings are pack with grease and also the wheel seals packed with grease and the correct torques and proseagers are done on the axle and pinch bolts.   Johnny
