Why do I have a port under the carbs dumping gas on my engine. when the gas is turned off the engine runs fine and no gas is pouring out (runs until out of gas). Set to reserve the engine starts no gas on engine runs fine. petcock set to fule gas pours out of some type of overflow right onto the engine. Please enlighten me.

Hi Nick,

From the limited amout of iformation given, sounds as if the petcock is varnished or defective.

If the MC was stored awhile with gasoline left in system, I suspect it's possibly varnished (gummed). If not, I suspect some form of defect. A few checks would quickly verify the problem.
