Motorcycle Repair: 1992 Yamaha FZR 600, white smoke

Question
I want to buy it. The engine sounds good, but when you gas it, at least in neutral, a bit of white smoke comes out of the tailpipe. Could this be a bad problem? What should I look for on a test ride?

Answer
The white smoke is coolant being burned, blue smoke is oil and black is fuel.It could have a bad head gasket.Check for coolant in the oil and oil in the coolant. If found it is a major problem. While test riding pay close attention to any motor noise such as knocking or loud ticking.
