Motorcycle Repair: wheel alignment, e mail address, wheel alignment

Question
Hi Mike:

Sorry I screwed up my e-mail address, I never received your response. My question is regarding my wheel alignment on my custom.  It appears my rear tire is off set to the left and is almost touching my rear fender on the side there is plenty of room on the right, the belt is also squeaking a little when I push the bike.  I think this off set issue is causing my front end's intense pulling to right when I release the handlebars when riding, this has been a problem since I bought it.  What should I do to make sure everything is aligned?  I have read about different ways to do correct this, using from string to lasers so what is your suggestion? Should I take it to a pro? Thanks as always Mike!

Answer
Remove the rear fender and tank. Take a string and starting at the neck, run it down the backbone of the frame in the center. The center of the wheel should line up with the spring. If not then you need to respace the wheel.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
