Motorcycle Repair: Kz750 Carbs, velocity stacks, sudden rainstorm

Question
I'm wondering what I have to do on my 81 kz750 to install volicity stacks instead of the unsightly air box.
Thanks
Dave

Answer
Hi Dave.
Adding velocity stacks requires complete retuning of the engine, the removal of the air box, the addition of individual air filtrs in the stacks and, of course the addition of the stacks themselves.

And afterwards, if you haven't had the bike professionally retuned, you will have a bike with a great look, less horsepower, worse fuel milage, a higher risk of contaminants entering the engine and causing damage as well as the guarantee that you will suck water into the motor if you get caught in a sudden rainstorm.

Good luck.
