Motorcycle Repair: Shifter pedal adjustment, shadow ace, foot man

Question
Hi Chris, I recently purchased Kurykyn floor boards for my Honda 1999-Shadow Ace 750. Installation went OK,but I had to tilt the left side board front edge down to enable to operate the shifter-results very uncomfortable on my foot man. I want to raise the shifter peg, i saw a swivel with the shifter rod and a lock nut on the shifter assembley. How do you screw the swivel IN to raise the pedal? I could not see a way of taking off the swivel to do this. Any ideas man would be great. Fair winds to you, Pete.

Answer
Hi Pete.
Most shifter levers, that are not directy attached to the shift shaft, have an adjustment linkage on the shifter pushrod.  In order to adjust it, you need to loosen the adjuster locknuts on either end of the adjuster.  one loosens clockwise and the other loosens counterclockwise.
After you are finished adjusting it, then retighten the nuts.

Good luck.
