Motorcycle Repair: cleaning carburator - Mtorcycle has set for 6 months, honda vfr, professional technician

How do I clean the carburator bike has set for 6 months. What other things should I do to prepare for the road.  1987 Honda vfr 700

Hi Calvin, Unfortunalty I am going to have to recommend that you not attempt cleaning the carbs on the Interceptor. These particular carbs are best left to a professional technician with experience related to V-fours. The carbs are delicate and use bakealite connecting tubes which are very brittle..one wrong move and OOPS! It is very expensive to have done..BUT avoid the shop that says AH NO PROBLEM...and offers a low price.. When you approach the service manager or a technician at a shop about these carbs...you should get a raised eyebrow and a WELL...IT's NOT CHEAP...AND WE WILL NEED YOUR BIKE FOR COUPLE OF WEEKS...this person has experience.   Good luck
