I NEED TO KNOW WHERE THE FLOAT LEVEL AND DROPS ARE, I HAVE ALSO BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BOWLS LEAKING FROM THE DRAIN HOLES AND GAS IS GETTING INTO MY CASE. THE CARBURETORS HAVE BEEN REBUILT. THERE HAVE BEEN NO OTHER REPAIRS ON THIS BIKE SINCE I HAVE HAD IT. BEFORE I BOUGHT IT, IT HAD SET UP IN A GARAGE FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS. THANKS FOR THE HELP.

Answer
Hi Mr.B,

Q: I NEED TO KNOW WHERE THE FLOAT LEVEL AND DROPS ARE.

A: You'll have to check the Service Manual for fuel service limits and fuel level specs.

Q: I HAVE ALSO BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BOWLS LEAKING FROM THE DRAIN HOLES AND GAS IS GETTING INTO MY CASE.

A: This happens when needle valves (float valves) are worn or varnished and are not sealing. If needle valves stick open, fuel overfills float bowls. Gasoline flows into airbox, crankcase, and out overflow tubes to ground. Be sure to change engine oil and filter.

I suggest replacing the needle valves and cleaning the carburetors. See the detailed info file "Carb Cleaning 101" and other related files sent to your email.
