Motorcycle Repair: 1982 CB900f charging sys, 1982 cb900f, engine rpms


Question
i,v replaced the stator, rectafier, and batt, i charge the batt, the bike starts rite up, voltage 11.4 at batt, if i gas it to 2500  voltage reads 11.7  sputters and slowly dies out,   any help will be greatly appreciated   thakz  arnie.

Hi Arnold, your bike is not charging. The parts you replaced? Were they used parts or new parts? I would be suspect of any used stators. You need to trace the source of the problem starting at your stator. Disconnect the connector out of the engine case and check voltage out of yor stator it shoud be AC voltage and should rise and fall with engine rpms. The voltage goes to your rectifier to be rectified to DC voltage. If AC voltage is present at Stator then suspect Rectifier. Good luck thanks for asking
