Is there any way to put a screen over the scavenger pump pickup tube in the case of a 1998 1340cc Evolution engine to prevent metal particles from entering the pump? My scavenger pump cavity got scored after 6000 miles and made the oil pressure drop to zero after the engine warmed up. The feed side of the pump was still like new. I rode it like this for several hundred miles with no overheating or engine noise and it also returned the oil to the tank. Thanks

There is really nothing nor have i seen any aftermarket products that you can use. If you try to put a screen over it, it would have to be so fine that youa re taking a chance of plugging it up and stopping the flow of oil.
I am puzzled at to why you stated it dropped your oil pressure. Your pressure is created from the pump or pressure side if the oil pump.
