Motorcycle Repair: Electrical, netural, shovelhead

Question
Hey Mike, its Tony again, the guy with the '82 Shovelhead.I adjusted the pumper...EXCELLENT!thanx again.I now have a new problem.Yep,I let a buddy of mine put some new handle bars on my bike & now it's FUCKED UP.He spent all day yesterday on it & buttoned it up this morning only to find it wont start. When we turned on the key the headlamp & taillight work, but the nuetral & oil pressure lights do not come on.No horn,no brake light & the relay down by the starter clicks, but doesnt start.Occasionally the starter sounds like ,just for a second,it wants to turn over.I'm at my wits end. What the hell could it be & why would a simple handlebar swap do this? Oh, & the battery was NOT disconnected while he was workin' on the bike. Thanks,Mike I'll be standin' by.   Tony

Answer
First, always disconnect the battery when doing annthing that has to do with the wiring.
About all you can do is recheck the work he did. You might have pinched a wire when installing the wiring on the handlebars. You sound like you have no power to the oil pressure and netural switch.
