Motorcycle Repair: Carbs, suzuki gs550, clutch plate

Question
I have a '78 Suzuki GS550 that I aquired. I got it running rather quickly and it is as smooth as silk while on the stand. However when you put tires to pavement it bogs down. It's like it not getting gas. I can run it through all gears but no full throttle on wny gears. And taking of in first is a pain.

Answer
Hi Walter,

I would need to investigate the described problem to give an accurate diagnosis.

Things you may check:

Air intake obstructions
Clutch operation/clutch plate inspection
Drive chain condition
Varnished carburetors
