I have a yz 450f year 2004 and the problem is that i cant kick start it but can only bump start, what causes this?

Does the starter cause the engine to rotate when used?

Or does the starter lever move without feeling any resistance as if used with the spark plug removed?

Any history of maintenance or repairs on this new MC?

Describe your exact starting sequence.

Did this problem just happen?
