Motorcycle Repair: Bike chains, bike chains, clutch cable

Question
I do not own a Harley,(yet) But I have a 2001 Suzuki GSXR750. I am learning my own general maintenance. I have learned how to adjust the chain and change the breaks (also bleeding them afterwards)How do I know when to oil my chain and what oil do I use. Also I need my clutch cable adjusted. How do I do that?
Thank you

Answer
Check the chain every 1000 miles to see if its dry. If it is then use a chain oil like PJ1 to oil it. You dont need alot. Remember, if you use to much it will sling off the chain and on the bike.
As to your clutch, I am not going to be able to help you. If you check my profile I only work on Harleys. Check with some of the other experts on this problem and they should be able to help you
Good luck and happy riding
