Motorcycle Repair: ENGINE STOPS RUNNING, fuse block, fresh oil

CHRIS,
I HAVE A 1983 HONDA SHADOW 500 WITH 31000 MILES.
PROBLEM, AFTER DRIVING IT IT WIIL SHUT OFF,BUT WILL IMMEDIATELY RESTART.
I HAVE NEW PLUGS, HAVE REMOVED GAS TANK AND CLEANED, CLEANED CARBS, INSTALLED AN INLINE FUEL FILTER,HAS NEW AIR FILTER, FRESH OIL CHANGE, NEW FUSE BLOCK AND NEW FUSES, HAVE REPLACED RECTIFIER
AND HAVE CHECKED CONNECTIONS. I AM NOW LOST. THE ENGINE RUNS JUST FINE, RUNS STRONG HOWEVER IT WILL SHUT OFF ON AN IRREGULAR INTERVAL BUT ALWAYS WILL IMMEDIATELY RESTART.

Hi Jerry.
 it sounds to me like you have an intermittent short in the wiring somewhere.  How many systems are affected when the bike shuts down?  If nothing but the engine shuts down then it could be in the ignition switch or the wiring for the ignition system.

 If the entire bike shuts down, then the problem could still be in the ignition switch, but would also then be between the switch and main power as well.

Get the repair manual and test the components and wiring in accordance with the proceedures and specs in there.
