I just took my bike into the shop for a basic tune up (will never take her to a shop again) and when I rode her home there was absolutely no power and then I noticed that oil was just pouring out of the breather valve opening. What do you think could be the problem? The check valve in the oil filter housing clogged? other thatn that I don't know? I had a buddy with a non sporty evo and he said that his problem was the check valves on the oil pump itself, but the sporty doesn't have a check valve on the oil pump. I would appreciate any help that you can offer.

Just so we are on the same page, what are you refering to as the breather valve? Are you talking about where the heads breath into the air filter?

Answer
The breather valve you are refering to is a vent for the bottom end and cam area.
Start the bike, and looking in the oil tank, are you getting a return flow to the tank? If not then you have a oil pump problem.
Did the shop use a motorcycle filter on the bike? One time I know of a bike that the person put a car filter on and the oil wouldnt flow and build up in the bottom end.
Let me know what you find
