Motorcycle Repair: No power to radio, radio repair, hot wire

Question
-------------------------
Which is the hot wire? There is a block of wires going to the radio. Do I turn the key on and just start probing? I have a small probe that I used to see if there was power going to the fuse itself.
Thanks

Question -
I have a 2000 FLHTC-I and the radio quit working. No light, no power, nothing.
I checked all the fuses and took the fairing off to look for anything out of place and found everything connected.
Now after looking at the price to replace it I want to know if there is a way to test it and maybe repair it if at all possible. I'm hoping it's not a bad radio because the price of a new one is unreal.
Are there any places that sell used or refurbished?
I'm hoping you can send me in the right direction because I just cannot afford to replace it with a new one.
Thanks in advance,
Hector
Answer -
Locate the hot wire to the radio and see if there is power there. Other than that, if you have power and no radio you can check with your local dealer and they usually have a radio repair service that they use. Usually it can be repaired.
Good luck and happy riding

Answer
Unplug the wiring harness from the radio, turn the key on and see whats hot. The problem with me telling you which is the hot wire is, there are about 23 wires going onto the radio. The wiring diagram is 12 pages for your bike, so it would take me about 2 hours to trace the wires out in the diagram. So, test each wire, and then let me know which ones are hot and what color they are.
