Motorcycle Repair: kawasaki, high octane racing, advance auto parts

Question
I have a 92 kawasaki zx6 ninja, my question is if it is ok to use high octane racing gas, 110 octane rating. I was wondering if it will harm the bike in any way.
also I have a few maintenance questions. is it safe to use car carb and choke (spray)cleaners as well as an engine degreaser (both from advance auto parts) on my motorcycle? And lastly, how do I know when I need to add brake fluid? thanks

Answer
Hi Drew,

Q:  Is it ok to use high octane racing gas, 110 octane rating. I was wondering if it will harm the bike in any way.

A:  It is safe to use and recommended if you can afford it. You may need to tune the air-fuel mixture with race gas.

Q:  Is it safe to use car carb and choke (spray)cleaners as well as an engine degreaser (both from advance auto parts) on my motorcycle?

A:  My advice is avoid Advance Auto Parts brand spray chemicals. My professional experiences with this brand spray cleaners, I find the chemicals often to be stale and the can's propellant is quickly expelled leaving liquid product in can unusable.

Q:  How do I know when I need to add brake fluid?

A:  Change fluids according to service manual periodic maintenance table. Brake fluid should be changed about every two years.
